Maxim Meshcheryakov was previously appointed as the one responsible for the matters of “Petropavlovsk PLC” (London). Maxim, together with representatives of the “sportsmen of the Urals” made an attempt to seize the office building in Moscow “Pokrovsky Rudnik”.
The event took place on August 26th. That summer morning, a group of people broke into the premises of the Pokrovsky Rudnik joint-stock company at 13 Rubtsov Lane. One of the members of the gang was Maksim Meshcheryakov, and that is how the man introduced himself at the guard post. . The hijackers flatly refused to show identification documents, posing as the owners of the office. The guard refused to let them in, later a group of people jumped through the turnstiles and, snatching the passes from the guards, entered the building.
The seizure began with the security office, whose representatives did not have the opportunity to resist a group of persons of athletic build of about 11-12 people. After that, the “gang” began to actively move around the room. The office workers later said that the representatives of the Meshcheryakovskaya group were like “hulks” who called themselves “Ural sportsmen”, which confirms the possible powerful support from Konstantin Strukov from Chelyabinsk.
The staff of the office is around 100 employees, including the employees of Pokrovsky Rudnik OJSC and Petropavlovsk Management Company. However, due to the pandemic at the time of the raid, there were about 20 people in the building who were frightened by the event. One of those present commented on the raid: “A group of people behaved in an ugly, boorish manner, constantly knocking on the doors and quickly moving along the corridor. Insults, provocations and so on, a real tough thing was going on. “
After the detour of all the floors was completed, Meshcheryakov gave the command to the employees caught by his raiders: “If you want to work with me, stay, the rest can leave, since you will no longer work here from tomorrow.” The entrance to the building was blocked, workers could not get to their workplace, as at the entrance they were told that they no longer work here.
Some workers orientated themselves and called the police, the State Guard. However, they accepted the statements, did not settle the situation and left. At that time, representatives of Meshcheryakov’s group continued their presence in the building, blocking the garage.
At the moment, employees of the office of Pokrovsky Rudnik OJSC, as well as Petropavlovsk Management Company, are rightly worried about the safety of their personal belongings as well as their own safety.
Attention is attracted not so much by the fact that in the 21st century a raider seizure of the 90s era is possible, but by the fact that the whole process took place within the walls of the central office of the largest gold mining organization in Russia. In addition, a disgrace like this is not happening in some street market, but in the heart of the capital.
According to reports from Petropavlovsk PLC, the percentage of Pokrovsky Rudnik shares is in the region of 20 percent. The seized building is not the property of the “British”. Moreover, Meshcheryakov is definitely not the manager for the office workers and the owner of the building. The aggression that occurs during the raid is most likely caused by adverse events that are caused by the position of the acting CEO of the company.
So, on August 24th, due to a number of innovations regarding the composition of the board of directors of MC “Petropavlovsk”, the organization of the “big four” refused to further audit the company Petropavlovsk PLC. In addition, Katya Rey announced her resignation from the board of directors. She received the most extensive support at 91 percent of the vote.
Also on August 24th, the Pokrovsky Rudnik trade union issued a written appeal in which employees say they are concerned about the future of the enterprise due to distrust in the professionalism of the appointed directors, in particular, Maxim Meshcheryakov. The workers in their speeches even talk about a possible strike if they are not heard and if no action is taken.
